Anatomical Shaped Breast Implants
Breast augmentation or enlargement is one of the most common cosmetic procedures for women. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons® more than 300,000 breast augmentations were performed in the United States in 2011. Until 2012, plastic surgeons in the United States were limited by the unavailability of shaped implants. Anatomical implants have been available for many years in Europe and other parts of the world. The FDA has approved three manufacturers for the anatomical or “gummy bear” shaped implant for the U.S. market (Allergan 410, Mentor CPG and Sientra). Anatomical implants can provide women with a more natural appearing breast by concentrating the volume at the lower portion of the breast. Dr. Aquadro in Auburn, AL has experience with these shaped devices. Call now to schedule an appointment to see if you are a candidate for a natural breast augmentation.
