What is Kybella® and how does it work?
Kybella® is a synthetic deoxycholic acid molecule. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule that assists in the breakdown and absorption of fat in your body. Once injected, Kybella® destroys the fat cells under your chin. This results in improvement in the submental fullness or “double chin.”

How many treatment will I need with Kybella® to achieve my goal?
Many patients see results after 2 treatments. Most patients will require 2-4 treatments, but up to 6 may be needed to achieve your goals. In clincal studies, 59% of patients had 6 treatments.
Who is not a good candidate for Kybella®?
- Pregnant or nursing mothers
- Anyone with a sensitivity to Kybella®
- People who have had recent or planned neck or face surgery
The most common side effects of Kybella® are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness.
