What to expect the day of surgery?

Most abdominoplasty surgeries are performed in the office under general anesthesia. Occasionally, the surgery is performed at East Alabama Medical Center. On the day of surgery, Dr. Aquadro will make some marks on you and confirm the details of surgery in the preoperative area. The surgery usually takes a couple of hours and many women go home the same day. Occasionally, an overnight stay is recommended.

What is the typical recovery?

Most women return to work within 7-14 days. No strenuous physical activity for 4-6 weeks to allow proper healing.
